I’ve been in the internet business world for a while, and the more I do it, the more I learn about digital marketing, especially Pinterest. I’m going to share some of my favorite, lesser-known Pinterest SEO tactics with you today.

I’ve invested a lot of time studying Pinterest and trying out different tactics because I deal with Pinterest marketing customers and utilize it for both of my businesses.

It’s my preferred marketing channel since the effort you put in today will pay off in the long run. Though I can’t speak for you, I think that sounds very delicious!

What is SEO on Pinterest?

The best way to view Pinterest is as a search engine rather than a social media site. Actually, it’s rather comparable to Google (just more visual).

You must comprehend keyword strategy if you want to succeed on Pinterest and have your pins recognized. Additionally, you must optimize your profile, boards, and pins using those keywords.

Next, a few less well-known advices you might not be aware of!

3 Effective Pinterest SEO Techniques

1. When you make a new pin, pin it to the board that is the MOST important initially.

This completely blew my head when I first heard it. Though that makes perfect logic, I hadn’t given it any attention until then.

You should, if at all feasible, have a minimum of two to three Pinterest boards, ranging in scope from more narrow to more broad, for each blog topic you cover or product category you offer.

Take the case where you made a pin for your recipe article for baked chicken fingers. You should pin your new pin to a particular board first (not your board for your generic brand, perhaps), such as “Easy Chicken Recipes.”

This provides Pinterest with precise information about what your pin is about, which helps the algorithm determine which others might be interested in it.

You could decide to pin it to your “Sheet Pan Dinners” or “Quick Dinner Recipes” board a few days later. You may afterwards pin it to your board for your more general brand or blog.

(For more on this, see my in-depth Tailwind plan.) Tailwind makes scheduling your pins to numerous boards SO much simpler and ensures that there is a safe time period in between. You can also build board lists for each of your varied themes to save time.

2. Use keywords in the text overlay for your pin images.

The text overlay on your pin image may actually be read by Pinterest’s visual search, which offers the algorithm more information about what your pin is about. Put a well-chosen keyword in your picture text if you can.

The visual search, however, has problems understanding sophisticated scripts, so try to keep the majority of your text overlay plain with legible fonts.

3. Modify the pin descriptions you use.

when producing many (distinctive) pin photos for a single page or article, as Pinterest advises! – Don’t always copy and paste the exact same pin description. Consider varying the long-tail keywords you include in your descriptions.

Using the Pinterest search box at the top of the website or app, you may discover long-tail terms that people are truly looking for.

In the search box, type a word or phrase, then press Enter. Below your term, colorful blocks with related or descriptive words will show up.

That’s all, then! I hope these pointers will enable you to complete your Pinterest marketing plan!
